Triste époque

The lyrics:

Japan was struck by the strongest earthquake in history, the losses are disastrous…
(music begins)
If rescue teams are like Buddha, helping the needy and the distressed,
Then victims are also Buddha, revealing itself,
Warning us about the ruthlessness of Mother Nature.
We Taiwanese should learn from the Japanese,
Their societal mechanism and orderliness amid crisis,
They even posted reminders online
To help non-Japanese-speaking foreigners and point them to safety,
Thousands of blankets and food in the gymnasiums that house the evacuees
Had always been there as they stocked up supplies ahead of the crisis.
The Japanese warrior spirit is awesome. A nuclear plant worker said in a text message:
“Even if I die, I won’t let the reactor melt down.”
I believe you won’t fall,
And thank you for providing hotline numbers to Taiwanese in Japan.
Thank you for sending the greatest number of aid workers during 921
And it was Japan that gave the most assistance.
We’re sorry we could only contribute NT$100 million, but Japanese netizens kindly said it’s because Taiwan’s economy is still not good.
And said: Japan will never forget the help we offer,
And said: Taiwan as expected is the only one in Asia we can trust,
And said: If you have Taiwan, you will be relieved,
And some of you said would wear a T-shirt next time you come to Taiwan, that says: “I am Japanese, thank you Taiwan.”
Meanwhile, when the Sichuan earthquake happened, we donated NT$2 billion
But, China still has a thousand missiles pointing at us. Thanks!
I hope the few Chinese netizens stop talking trash.
When the Sichuan earthquake happened, didn’t we Taiwanese drop our prejudices and donate money?
The ones who hurt China aren’t of this generation, so don’t get illogically angry.
During the Sichuan earthquake, Japan rescue teams bowed while removing the dead bodies.
Chinese movies have long vilified Japan,
In the movies its always the Japanese devils poisoning Huo Yuanjia
It’s no wonder this way you become brainwashed.
This kind of reaction is really pathetic, if you have the Communist Party, there’s no need for a tsunami.
Abandon history’s scars, abandon the hatred,
We are all one family, we are all from the Earth,
Maybe we’re all in different places,
But Japanese brothers and sisters, please keep it up,
Taiwan will stick with you,
Japan, hang in there, we are with you.
